Frequently Asked Questions
What is behind our name and logo design?
When someone says a girl or woman has had a Hissyfit her legitimate feelings are rudely dismissed. We've taken what was meant as an insult, embraced it, and turned it into a powerful exclamation of strength.
The Hissyfit logo includes two i's, each representing female characters. The first faces sideways, showing her boundaries need to be respected. The second faces front, arms up, showing the world she will defend her sacred ground.
Is Hissyfit for everyone?
Yes! Everyone is welcome to wear this brand. Anybody who wants to shine their own light or support the females they love by wearing Hissyfit are heroes in our story.
Where is Hissyfit located?
We are located in Lincoln City, Oregon. It's a small beach town on the Pacific coast in the USA.
How are Hissyfit products created?
First we imagine design ideas using creativity, intuition and humor. Then we bring those ideas to life through sketches, photos and computer design. When we are satisfied we transfer the finished designs onto blank product mockups to see how they will look and order sample products. After testing, we approve these designs with our print supplier and integrate them into our online shop. When people purchase the products they love from us, our print supplier creates the ordered products and ships them directly to our customers in a process called print on demand.
Why does Hissyfit use print on demand for their products?
There is very little waste, which is better for the planet. Our products aren't sitting around in a giant warehouse full of clothing. They are made for you, when you order them. With this process you get more in stock options for sizes and color choices.
The only downside to this process is Hissyfit doesn't get to physically inspect every product before it gets shipped out, so we have to trust our printers. We have a great reprint policy in case anything doesn't arrive as expected.
Where are Hissyfit products physically made?
We use printers at multiple locations in the US, their stock is sourced from around the globe. If you order multiple products from us you may accumulate more than one shipping charge due to products being produced in different locations. We try to use as few printers as possible to streamline this but we also like to offer a variety of products to our customers.
How long does it take to get my items?
Your order is processed immediately and printed within 1-3 days. From there, standard US shipping typically takes 4-8 business days.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number via email. You can use this to monitor your delivery status.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and other secure payment methods through Shopify Payments.
What is your return policy?
We don't get to inspect every product before it ships so we rely on our customers to tell us if something isn't right. We want you to be happy and receive the product you ordered. If there are any issues please contact us immediately so we can fix them and maintain a good reputation. Let us know if there are any defects or a seam comes unravelled. We want you to be shining out there! If you just plain aren't satisfied with a product we accept returns within 30 days of purchase.
Notes on freshly printed garments:
You may notice a faint, sometimes slightly vinegary, scent on new direct-to-garment (DTG) printed items. This is a normal part of the printing process and will disappear after the first wash. Garments, particularly lighter colors, can sometimes arrive with visible pre-treatment residue. This pre-treatment solution is crucial for direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, helping the ink bond to the fabric. The residue is normal and usually washes out completely with the first wash. Avoid exposing pre-treated garments to direct sunlight before washing, as this can make the pre-treatment more difficult to remove. Before wearing, remember to wash printed garments cold, inside out, and tumble dry low.
